Welcome to Small Groups

Small Groups is a ministry of Living Word Christian Center.  There is a place within our Small Groups where you fit perfectly. In fact, we aren't complete without you. We offer activities, great fellowship, and opportunities to learn more of the Word - providing you with the pieces to help build a fulfilling life.  Our groups are designed to either assist you in your development as a Christian or to meet a specific need in your life. The goal of Small Groups is to provide you with the tools to walk out the plan of God for your life—successfully. With that goal in mind, take the time to look over the groups offered to find those that fit you best.  Hope to see you in a small group soon! ~ Pastor Tim and Renee Burt

A Power-Packed Night at Mm!
Marriage Matters News & Updates

“If I’d have known that, I’d have been Zorro for the last 30 years!” ~ Pastor Tim Burt

tim_renee_mm_nov_09Each time we meet at Mm, we desire to make a difference in people’s lives and marriages.  Last Friday, we hit a home run.  In their message entitled, “Your Space or Mine,” Pastor Tim & Renee helped us break down walls that come between married couples by not knowing how to deal with some of our differences – especially in the areas of spirituality and emotions.  Giving our spouse space to be themselves in these areas can be the difference-maker!  We had many comments from people after meeting in their groups that this message really freed them from some issues they have dealt with in this area.  Thank you, Pastor Tim and Renee, for sharing your hearts with us!

For anyone who missed last Friday or would like to hear it again, we have a free MP3 download on our Small Groups website.

Our next Mm session will be a party! On Friday, December 11, at 7 p.m., we’ll have our first ever Mm Christmas Party in Fellowship Hall!  It will be a great time of fun, laughter, fellowship, prizes, and more!  Admission is free.  Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share.  Childcare will be available until 9 p.m.  More info will follow!

It’s going to be a great time! We hope you can make it!

Do YOUR Best... to Live YOUR Best!
HomeMakers News & Updates
Renee's 2009-2010 theme for HomeMakers is entitled, Do Your Best... to Live Your Best.  It's based on 2 Peter 3:14, which says, "So, my dear friends, since this is what you have to look forward to, do your very best to be found living at your best, in purity and peace."  The emphasis not being on the word 'best', but on the word 'your'.  It reads totally different, depending on how you say it.

So, what does it mean to live YOUR best?

We've all encountered situations or people that have made us feel like our best isn't good enough, haven't we?  Well, thank God He doesn't keep a report card of our actions or our behavior, and He doesn't grade on a scale like we do.  That doesn't mean He doesn't care what we do, but He loves us no matter what, and He doesn't demand perfection from us.

We sometimes put that pressure on ourselves to perform at someone else's best, which can carry with it an endless supply of guilt, regret, and distraction.  The verse above is telling us to be found living at our best in purity and peace.  In other words, we should not only be living our lives to the best of our ability, but doing so free from guilt or anxiety.

God knows better than anyone what you're confident in, what you're unsure of, what you can and can't handle, and what your strengths and weaknesses are.  Because of that, He knows what's best for you today, tomorrow, and 50 years from now.  We need to listen to what He's saying to us on a daily basis.  God never changes, but things in your life will, and what's best for you today may not be what's best in the future.

So, in the upcoming weeks and months, we're excited for Renee to continue to unwrap this theme.  We'll all have the equipping and the tools to help us learn to do OUR best to live OUR best... according to God's standards.

YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS NEXT WEEK!!!
