HomeMakers is just a few weeks away from starting its 18th year! Our first time back will be on Tuesday, September 9, at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.
If you've never come before, try to come a little early...we're a big Small Group here at Living Word. There are usually about 250 girls who come those first exciting weeks back, but don't let that initimidate you. We have girls all over the atrium, in the lobby, and in Fellowship Hall who would love nothing more than to help you find a seat and meet some people.
Also, we have small group breakouts with just 10-20 girls, so it's easy to get to know one another. I always encourage newcomers to be sure to come at least 4-5 times...you'll be surprised how many girls you meet, how rich the discussion is, how practical the reali-life teachings are...and most likely, you'll wind up as hooked on HomeMakers as the rest of us are!
If you have children, we do have childcare...but it's much more than childcare. Each room has teachers who help the children - through stories, playtime, and crafts - learn more about Jesus' love for them. Please email me at

The Homes of Hospitality Ministry is looking for couples who are willing to open up their home and hearts to welcome new members and visi tors from our church in a relaxed and warm environment.
The purpose of Homes of Hospitality is to give new members and visitors an opportunity to form relationships with others from the LWCC church body. We host these parties throughout the metropolitan area twice a year, once in the Fall and Spring.
New members from the surrounding area are invited to come and enjoy a casual evening of great appetizers and dessert or Sunday brunch. Only twenty guests attend each party, so it's easy to fellowship and establish relationships. Pastor Mac continually preaches that the way God most often brings blessing to us is through other people.
Homes of Hospitality parties are a great way to start creating blessed friendships. At each party we see relationships being made, prayer requests being answered, and people having fun!
If you are interested in becoming a host or you have not yet had the opportunity to attend a Home of Hospitality near you but would like to be invited, please contact Espi Melvin at 763-315-7129. You’ll have a great time!

The Winners of this Year's Race
(Tim & Susane / Mike & Robin)
This past Saturday we had 13 teams of two couples and 9 volunteer couples come out to our Amazing Race. The day could not have been more perfect for the event. Couples came pumped up and ready to compete. Before the race began, teams were excitedly strategizing how they'd take and keep the winning edge.
At 12:30 p.m. the race began with the first clue and the sea of 54 people took to vehicles and were off to claim the title of AR4 Winners. The first team back to the final destination arrived at 5:16 pm after having been through multiple challenges (like canoeing on the Mississippi through two locks and damns, rock climbing, bracelet making, blazin hot wings eating, archery and puzzle building, and a host of other challenges).
Our special thanks goes to Kevin & Alicia Weiers and their Event Team for their immense work in brainstorming, planning, coordinating, and executing the event. This team has put in countless hours to ensure that the event was memorable for all. Thank You!
