Blended Families PDF Print E-mail

Next meeting is Tuesday, December 8

This small group is designed for parents of blended families who desire to learn how to incorporate godly principles into their family. Re-marriage and uniting two families as one presents challenges such as juggling the demands of scheduling, finances, co-parenting, and building relationships to become a cohesive family. The leaders of this group represent blended families who not only have walked the walk, but are en route to the destination God has for their families. Join us as we discuss topics that will help your blended family thrive.

After going through the Pre-Marriage classes with Tace & Carmen, and being a part of the blended family group, we have found an amazing support system for our blended family. It has been a great place to share struggles, pray for one another, and learn through the experience, receive strength and hope from other families that face similar challenges. We have seen healing and restoration in relationships, and we acknowledge the power of the small group experience of blended families. Thank you Carmen & Tace for your dedication and commitment to this awesome ministry!

We have been married for 4 1/2 years. We were in the first pre-marriage class that Tace and Carmen taught.

Our middle son left our home with his mother's agreement, when he was 14 because as he told us, he couldn't go where he wanted to go and do what he wanted to do at our home. He spent two years with his mom, and only spending a small amount of time with us. Last November/December, all three boys were in our home for a week and were to be there for another week while their mom was out of town. When they couldn't do what they wanted, things went downhill quickly. In a traumatic fashion, all three boys left to be with their mom again. It was a huge blow to both of us.

The blended family group meeting that month was priceless. They were so encouraging and really loved on us. It took several weeks for us to get back on track. The Lord ministered to us to go back to listening to a series from Keith Moore called "Without a Doubt". That series had really impacted us before and we needed to go back to doing what we were doing back then. We started moving in the right direction again and started believing for God to move.

In May, we sat down with the two younger boys and had a straight-forward discussion with them. As a result, they both agreed to come back to our home on an every other week basis again.

They have been back in our home for several months now and we are so happy to say that things are really going well. There have been a few tense moments, but overall things are going very well. God has moved mightily in our lives and He is no respecter of persons. What He will do for one family, He will do for your family!!

The blended family group--and especially Tace and Carmen--have been a gift to us. Being a part of this group is so valuable. We all face similar challenges. Being able to learn from others and from Tace and Carmen is just priceless.

The Blended Family small group is a great safe place to be where people are experiencing some of the same obstacles and being able to overcome them through the teachings in God's Word, encouragement and support from the leaders and the attendees. If you are in a blended family I encourage you to come to one of these power-packed meetings to help strengthen your relationship with your spouse and all the dynamics that come with blending a family. You'll truly be blessed and you'll be glad you made the
effort to attend.
