This year's theme on leadership:

"Godly Leadership in an Ungodly World"

Manhood is our monthly breakfast, attended by over 300 men. You’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet, interview, and get to know the guys at your table. Then you’ll be encouraged, taught, and challenged with a great message.

The goals of this group are:
  • To present leadership topics of teaching and discussion that are applicable to men of all ages, and to challenge men to apply these principles in their daily lives, whether at home or at work.
  • To encourage spiritual growth and the development of leadership.
  • To invite unchurched friends, relatives, or acquaintances with the goal of helping them to know and grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

I've been a regular at the Manhood breakfast since becomming a member of Living Word over 5 years ago. The food and fellowship are second to none, and the word delivered by pastor Tim is always inspiring and timely. It always amazes me how I can sit at a table full of strangers and feel comfortable, but the men are Godly men so I should't be surprised. I've always invited my friends to attend with me, and two or three of them always do. In fact, two of them keep after me to let them know when the next breakfast is. One of my friends is about ready to accept Christ, and become a member of Living Word, and it's because of the warmpth, the message(and good food) he experiences at the Manhood breakfast.I'm happy to be a part of it all, my life is richer because it. Thank you Manhood team, you all are truely a blessing.

Sincerely,
Earl Holmes

Hello-
The first event I ever attended, even before going to a Sunday service, was Manhood in May of 2005. I met some mighty men of God who I am still friends with today. It meant so much to me to have a place to plug in with other guys and share my battles and struggles. It was comforting to hear that I wasn't the only one going through what I was going through. I received encouragement and the right word from the Lord at the right time.

Beyond just being an attender to a Manhood event, I have found even more enjoyment and fulfillment serving in the kitchen to help prepare the meal for the men who come. The team of guys who work in there are truly anointed by God to serve with all their heart, soul, and strength. We laugh, we cry (the slice, dice & cry team knows what I am talking about), and we encourage each other in the Lord. These are guys I would go into battle with any day because I know they got my back and they know I have theirs. I would encourage anyone reading this to listen to the Lord's leading and get involved and sow into the lives of other men in our church.

I praise God for Pastors Tim, Aaron, Daniel, & for Craig, John, & Dick for their leadership and their willingness to serve others. My prayer over them is from Psalm 115:12-18. It reads as follows:

"The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, both small and great. May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth. The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's; but the earth He has given to the children of men. The dead do not praise the Lord, nor any who go down into silence. But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!"

I have been coming to the Manhood breakfasts for about the last 3 years now, and I can tell you, there's something special about getting together with 300 or so other guys for fellowship, some praise and worship, and good teaching by Pastor Tim. It's a place where learning and growing up to be better leaders is encouraged. And I think that sometimes it's good to have a place where just men can be together to share our relationship in Christ.

I would HIGHLY recommend any guy who's never been to a Manhood breakfast to come! The food is really good too by the way. And hey, for first-timers it's FREE!
