Life After Work (for women who work) PDF Print E-mail

Next meeting is Tuesday, December 15May'07Renee'sUnsorted 038.jpg

Are you a woman who works either part-time or full-time? Then you know what a challenge it can be to live a balanced life while juggling the responsibilities you have both at work and home. Not only does God want you to do a “good job” wherever you are during your day—He wants you to enjoy your life in the process!

We hope you’ll join us for practical teachings about topics such as keeping your dreams alive, living on the edge without being edgy, and how God uses ordinary women to do extraordinary things. We’ll also enjoy getting together in small groups to discuss our topic and share ideas of how to apply it to our daily lives.

StephReDo's 446.jpgMost importantly, this is a group where you can take the time to make new friendships… and to have some fun! For more information, contact Renee at 763-315-7133 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Leader: Renee Burt
Location: Fellowship Hall
Time: 7–9 p.m., Tuesdays once a month (food/fellowship begins at 6:45 p.m.)

After returning to work full time, I felt that I didn't have alot of time to make friends and attend a small group. I had a hard enough time trying to maintain the friendships that I already had. Since they only met once a month, I decided to try it. Since then, I have met new friends and now get my old friends to join me on Tuesday nights for Life After Work. It is a great way to do something for myself and I feel so much better when I leave. The teachings are awesome and exactly what I need. If you have never attended, please come and try us out. It is a great group to be a part of.

Yesterday was the first time I attended LAW. I enjoyed being around other women and the questions sparked a self examination and appreciation for all God has done in my life through other women. Renee was awesome and funny, but real and down to earth. The song she chose to share was a blessing. We are His work of art and I am so glad He placed me in LWCC. My life has been abundantly blessed and I am taught, not just preached to. Thank you!

It was through volunteering at MCA that I heard about Life after Work. Not only is the fellowship powerful each time I have attended, but what really creates the atmosphere is how Renee is able to keep it real. I believe that in our day-to-day lives we are surronded by fakeness. LAW has become my once-a-month must have to get refreshed as a mother, colleague and friend.

I started attending LAW last fall by accident. I had come to church on the wrong night (or so I thought) for a class I had signed up for. Since I had driven all the way to church ( I live in St Paul), I decided to stay for LAW. I was so thrilled by the friendshps I made, the teaching I learned and a chance just to relax and shut the rest of the world out for a few an hour or so.
I have not missed a single LAW get together since. I really missed it over the summer and can't wait to see all my new friends again, especially Renee. It has truely blessed my life and given me peace of mind on many levels. It will bless your life too! Won't you join us........I can never have too many new friends! :)

Life After Work, or fondly known as "L.A.W." is an exciting group of women who savor their Tuesday nights once a month together!
It's like a night out with your best girlfriends! We laugh, cry, eat, and praise God!
Our leader, Renee, is fearless and hilarious, spunky and wise. The Lord speaks through her with kernals of truth to keep us spiritually fed. The topics discussed are SO relevent for today's women trying to balance it all in life.
L.A.W. is a sweet oasis for anyone who needs a break or refreshment from the mundane.
We welcome all... and trust me, you won't be sorry. You will be blessed!

My first LAW experience was last February. I was going through a bad time and felt like I hadn't had any fun in a long time.
I imagined a cocktail party setting: women holding tiny plates of food and talking in small groups. I was a little worried about how I would fit in.
Instead, I was greeted at the door, given a nametag and ushered to a table. Most of us were meeting for the first time, so it didn't matter that I was new. There was lots of food and then, to my surprise, a speaker.
Our teacher had improvised a comedy routine. Only later did she tell us that she was so tired she didn't know if she was making any sense. I was tired, too and it made alot of sense to me.
Next came a semi-organized discussion at each roundtable, with a list of questions to focus on. Then there were prizes!
By the time I left, my face hurt from laughing and it was definitely the most fun I'd had in a long time. I hoped i would never have to miss another one!
So for all you new people out there, come and join us!

Trudy
