Each time we meet at Mm, we desire to make a difference in people’s lives and marriages.  Last Friday, we hit a home run.  In their message entitled, “Your Space or Mine,” Pastor Tim & Renee helped us break down walls that come between married couples by not knowing how to deal with some of our differences – especially in the areas of spirituality and emotions.  Giving our spouse space to be themselves in these areas can be the difference-maker!  We had many comments from people after meeting in their groups that this message really freed them from some issues they have dealt with in this area.  Thank you, Pastor Tim and Renee, for sharing your hearts with us!

Our next Mm session will be a party! On Friday, December 11, at 7 p.m., we’ll have our first ever Mm Christmas Party in Fellowship Hall!  It will be a great time of fun, laughter, fellowship, prizes, and more!  Admission is free.  Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share.  Childcare will be available until 9 p.m.  More info will follow!

Thank you all for joining us this past Friday at Marriage Matters. It was awesome to see all of you.  We were so blessed by the kind words and great response we heard from many of you who were impacted by the message, “Simple and Honest.”

We are believing the Lord spoke something to your heart about how to seek after your spouse – and about the importance of building a connection with your spouse through simple and honest communication. We want to encourage you to set aside time to invest in each other, and give your spouse the best you can offer.

Thirteen married couples from Living Word enjoyed a beautiful fall day at Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard on Saturday, October 10. The air was cool, the cider and soup were warm, and the apples were delicious.

Many of us enjoyed the free samples of apple cider, apple salsa, apple bread, and of course, the apples themselves. We also took our chances at the corn maze and took to the trails for a little horseback riding under the colorful fall leaves.

It was an an amazing time. Thanks to everyone for hanging out with us that day and making the orchard even more of a fantastic fall memory.

“Thank you” to Pastor Phil and Annie for sharing last Friday from their personal experiences in their message, “Navigating the Storms of Life”.  They showed us that no matter what challenges come at our marriage, that if we’ll keep trying to do things God’s way, we can weather those storms together.  We heard that this led to several others sharing about their personal experiences of “storms” in the group conversations.  This is what Mm is all about!  Pastor Phil and Annie also held a drawing to give away three copies of the book “The Couple Checkup”.  Our winners were Cory & Therese Jensen, Henry & Susan Thrun, and Mike & Chereyle Wenzel.  Congratulations to all of you!

Thanks to all who attended the Married Couples Photo Scavenger Hunt on September 19! There were a bunch of couples searching Arbor Lakes to complete the Scavenger Hunt Photo list in the most creative and unique way that they could. We had a blast looking at all of the great photos that came back with each of the teams (keep your eye out for them). 

Congratulations to Mike & Linnea Peters and Scott & Amy Brekke for taking first place and having the most pictures completed!

What an awesome day we had getting to know each other and having a blast at the same time!

Wow! What a great kickoff!

“Thank you” to Pastor Tim and Renee for leading the way to a fun night with their message, “My Way or the High Way”. They reminded us of the many “secret” things we may have become accustomed to doing with our spouses to get our “own way”. And how when we do yield to our spouse, we sometimes make them “pay” for it. It was a fun and helpful message with many personal stories of how they have walked through this themselves… maybe even last week! We had a great time!

It was great to see so many of you at Marriage Matters on Friday night, March 6!  We had a fun time listening to Pastor Phil and Annie. What was your favorite quote of the night?

Anyway… we heard more about the ‘Keys to Compatibility’ – this time regarding finances, romance and sexual compatibility. We heard some great feedback from your discusion group leaders and are glad to know that many of you had such a great time in your groups! 

We also got to wish Kay Kruse a BIG Happy 50th Birthday as she spent her evening with us at Mm!
